DMS - Digital Management Solutions in automobile and ship manufacture

The product cycles in the automobile and ship manufacture industry are becoming ever shorter, the employees, however, - particularly from abroad – more and more numerous. Only those companies can survive that bring innovative products onto the market for the right price and more quickly than the competition. Well functioning Product Data Management (PDM) offers the best foundation for this.

You immediately have all product information at a glance

With a PDM solution, all product information in your company is available centrally in a document management system – whether it be company-created drawings, calculations and descriptions or all supplier data. There are, in addition, the business process management functions, which optimally control processes and thus accelerate their progress.

Your employees have direct access to all relevant information. You have an overview of the contracts with your suppliers and are notified of, for example, contract deadlines. In addition, this ensures that your company adheres to laws and directives. This includes, for example, the recording and documentation of all processes. The long-term archiving of construction diagrams, sales receipts or technical documents such as user handbooks or maintenance instructions poses no problem for the system either.

How you can now avoid unnecessary costs from multiple repeat translations

Regarding technical documents:
Vehicles and ships are exported to nearly all countries of the world. The descriptions that accompany the products must thus also be translated into multiple languages. To keep costs as low as possible, multiple repeat translations must be avoided.

This is achieved by dividing your documents into modular text units that you use repeatedly. The costs for creating the technical documents are thus significantly reduced:

Your technical editor chooses the necessary elements from the selection of text units and compiles the new user handbook. He then creates the descriptions of individual components. Existing translations of the units are also available. Your translators thus don't have to always completely translate every document, but only the new or modified sections. Modern editing and content management systems are not only capable of efficiently managing text units; they also have mechanisms that compare the documents and their versions and identify differences.

Your advantages when using innovative document and information management solutions at a glance:

- Quick, trouble-free creation and
  translation of technical documents

- Consistent, standardised texts

- Central storage and rapid retrieval of all
  product-relevant data

- Adherence to legal regulations

- Secure archiving of data, information,
  documents and technical documentation
